Family escape injury in arson attack
An elderly woman and her adult children have had a lucky escape after an arson attack in Londonderry.

A pillow was placed against the gas mains of a house on Lower Bennett Street in the early hours of this morning and set alight.
Emergency services were called to scene at around 1.40am and were able to put the fire out.
Damage was caused to the gas main. of the property which is in a highly-residential area.
Those inside the house were not injured, but were left shaken by the ordeal.
Detective Sergeant Brian Reid is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has any information that can assist with the investigation to contact Detectives in Strand Road on 101 quoting reference number 76 of 03/05/17.
