1. More than 50% of the crew on the ship must consist of young people aged between 16-25

2. If all the ships berthed end-to-end, their total length would equal 18 football pitches

3. More than 500,000 people welcomed the Tall Ships to Belfast in 2009

4. The actual race begins 5 miles off the coast of Portrush, County Antrim on Sunday at 10am.

5. The smallest vessel in the fleet is the Class C sloop Black Diamond of Durham, measured at 13.5 metres (still massive!)

General Visitor Information

No tickets are necessary, the Tall Ships 2015 is a free family festival.

There are a range of activities going on, including live music, a food market and plenty to keep the children amused

Lord Nelson is the only visiting Class A ship with full disability access. Access will be available Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd July from 2-4pm

Prams and buggies will be allowed at the festival however will not permitted on board the ships

Dogs must be kept on leads at ALL times

Weather

After our beautiful weather earlier on in the week, it looks like it will be warm with a few showers so don't forget the waterproofs !
