Cloghy car park death being investigated

Police are investigating the circumstances of a man's death in Cloghy, County Down

The 28 year old was found lying in the car park of an apartment block on Main Street yesterday morning, where he then died.

Officers had been called to the area after a 'concern for safety' report was made.

As officers were present at the man's death, the Police Ombudsman has been informed.

A PSNI spokesperson said, “A man has died following a report to police of a ‘concern for safety’ in the Main Street area of Cloghy on Saturday morning. The 28 year old male was located by police lying in the carpark of an apartment building at around 11.15am and subsequently passed away at the scene.”

The circumstances of the death are now subject to investigation and in line with standard protocol where police officers have been present at a death, the Office of the Police Ombudsman has been informed.”
