New ‘Noughties’ Night Coming to Belfast!
Radio DJ’s joining forces for party night with a difference
Last updated 14th Oct 2025
Belfast is to get a new party night and this time it’s music of the 2000’s being celebrated!
It was the decade that give us flip phones, Pop Idol, iPod shuffle, facebook, Big Brother and Harry Potter but it was the music of the noughties that was the real hightlight.
Y2K is the new project of from the same people responsible for the Pleasuredome 80’s nights at Belfast’s Empire and now they are taking their ‘DeLorean’ straight to the year 2000!
The party night will be held at Belfast’s iconic Empire Music Hall and will be a celebration of nostalgic for Millennials and Gen Z. The live Y2K band features Maurice Jay while Cool FM’s Stuart Robinson, whose 30+ night have been a big hit recently will be DJ’ing before and after the bands live performance.
Maurice said “There's no other atmosphere like a live gig with a 6 piece band blasting out the hits and the Empire is such an incredible venue for live music, we’ve been performing our 80’s and 90’s nights for over 15 years here and as it’s now been 25 years since the turn of the millennium we feel the time is right for a night dedicated to the audience heading out every week to bars and clubs in Belfast – the songs they grew up with”.
Stuart added “over the past year or so we’ve seen a huge rise in people of a certain age who just want to go out a little earlier on a Saturday night, have a good time and sing and dance to the songs that they remember and love and be up the next morning feel fresh – enough passage of time has passed that people are now really nostalgic about acts like Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys and we will unashamedly play all that kind of stuff! From Kylie to The Killers, LadyGaga, Westlife, Girls Aloud and more – there’s so much great music between 2000-2009 that we can’t wait to dig into”
