Shine & Belsonic's one-off FREE event EMERGE kicks off this evening at Ormeau Park!

Thousands of music fans from across Northern Ireland, that were lucky to get a free ticket, will hear tunes from some of the biggest names in dance music - including Alan Fitzpatrick, Eats Everything & Mella Dee.

Only those that have received at least one dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccination in Northern Ireland were eligible for a ticket.

The idea for the event was to acknowledge the impact the pandemic has had on younger people here in Northern Ireland, and is a thank you for all the sacrifices they have made in the battle against Covid.

Ahead of tonight's event, we've pieced together a helpful guide, answering some of listener's questions.

What will the weather be like?

The Met Office predicts the weather should stay cloudy this evening in the east, but any rain will soon die out. Clearer skies in the west will reach all areas after 6pm. Some fog patches developing. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

What time do the gates open?

Gates open at 5pm to allow extra time for entry requirement checks re: Covid-19 status.
