Vogue Williams chats all things podcasts, tours and Belfast with Rebecca McKinney

Rebecca chats to one of her female heroes on International Women's Day!

Published 8th Mar 2023

Every 8th March we celebrate powerful women around the world, and today our very own Rebecca McKinney got the chance to chat to one of her female heroes…Vogue Williams on Cool Breakfast!

Vogue has many strings to her bow - model, presenter, media personality, entrepreneur, and DJ – as well as being a busy mum of three.

She is also the co-host on a number of popular of podcasts, including My Therapist Ghosted Me, alongside her comedian BFF Joanne McNally.

The hilarious pair are currently touring the UK and Ireland with their sold-out MTGM live podcast and are set to bring it to the SSE Arena, Belfast this November.

Vogue shared with Rebecca her experiences working with strong female voices on TV, radio and social media platforms.

“I love it so much. I was chatting about this my friend last week, we’ve been best friends since we were 12. She started to do make-up after school, and I was trying to get into presenting, and we always said wouldn’t it be the dream that we got to work together some day, and now we do, it just doesn’t feel like work.

“When I sit down with Joanne to record, we’re trying to make each other laugh the whole time and we have so much fun making the podcast. It is just us sitting there with a mate, having a chat about random stuff and it’s the most craic ever.”

With 2.5million listeners a month, Vogue and Joanne’s ‘My Therapist Ghosted Me’ podcast continues to grow.

“We were obviously really good friends before we started, but we had no idea if we could work together on a podcast. But it’s just like you’re hanging with your friends when you’re listening to it. Our rule is to never hold anything back…we want it to be short, snappy and fun.”

Vogue and Joanne hold the record for the MOST tickets sold for a live podcast ever in Ireland, as their ‘My Therapist Ghosted Me’ LIVE show hits the SSE Arena, Belfast on 23rd November 2023.

“We did a 12-show run in the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin, it’s not just a live podcast, we wanted to turn this into a proper show. It’s the same banter, the same fun, but we’ve a got visuals and stuff that we just couldn’t use on a podcast. We honestly want people to come, have a fun night out, and feel like they’re getting a proper show. The Dublin shows there were wild!

“I love Belfast, I filmed a travel show in Belfast and it’s so gorgeous, my sister goes up most New Year’s actually. I’m really looking forward to going back, and the restaurants are so amazing, so I think I’m going to do a wee 3-day trip and make the most of it actually.”

If you fancy going to the live show at the SSE for the ultimate ‘MTGM’ experience, tickets are available from ticketmaster.ie
