Will it stay dry for the 2017 Belfast Marathon?

Over 17,500 runners are expected to hit the streets on Bank Holiday Monday

It is one of the largest annual sporting events in Northern Ireland. Thousands of charity fun runners are preparing to take part, as well as hundreds of professional athletes and local competitors.

This year's event takes place on Monday 1st May and is the 36th Belfast Marathon.

Good news if you're competing or cheering on the competitors... the latest weather forecast is looking OKAY for the Bank Holiday.

The Met Office say "Rain clearing. The best chance of any brighter conditions expected across eastern parts."

The official nominated charity for the 2017 event is Mencap.

The route will remain the same as last year; starting at City Hall at 9am and finishing at Ormeau Park.
