Inspired by the likes of Soccer Aid, The Odyssey Trust will host ‘Hospice Hockey’ at The SSE Arena, in support of NI Hospice.

⛸️ Saturday 7 June 2025

The night will see celebrities and ice hockey stars alike take to the ice to raise as much money as possible for the NI Hospice.

Cool FM's very own Pete Snodden and Curtis McCosh are swapping their mics for skates on the night.

Local comedien Ciaran Bartlett, MMA star Leah McCourt, Premier League goalkeeper Petr Čech, Boxer Paddy Barnes, Rugby legend Craig Gilroy and Derry Girls actress Jamie-Lee O’Donnell have also been announced - plus lots more HERE

With a line-up like that, this is sure to be a fantastic night of fun & fundraising, let's take a closer look 👇

First Period: Ice Hockey Action

Two teams, Somerton and Horizon, aptly named after NI Hospice’s in-patient adult and children’s units, will take to the ice in a mini ice hockey game to find their feet and put their training into action.

It’s their chance to put training into practice, win points for their teams, and maybe even show off some hidden hockey skills.

Keep an eye out for Giants mascots Finn, Finnula, the Adam Keef, mascot, Zilla, and the NI Hospice mascot!

Second Period: Games, Skills & Sledge Hockey

Teams will go head-to-head in a series of games, testing out their skills. It’ll be a chance to see a different side of your favourites – as they earn some points along the way.

This period will also see roster members take to the ice in sledges. Fast-paced, physical and full of skill, the sledge skate will be a highlight of the night and a fantastic celebration of the sport’s inclusivity and adaptability.

There will be a competition for fastest skater, musical chairs, go-kart races, bungee ball and bubble hockey winning key points for their teams.

Third Period: It's All to Play For

The game will continue, then the pressure will climb with a thrilling shootout finale.

One-on-one, player versus goalie - the perfect way to end an unforgettable evening on the ice.

With points on the line across all events, one team will be crowned Hospice Hockey Champions!

WAIT...THERE'S MORE!

Throughout the evening and during intermissions, there will be plenty of opportunities for YOU to get involved in fun activities, games, and incredible giveaways.

Money raised on this GIANT night will go directly to NI Hospice to support their amazing work meaning when you win, NI Hospice win.

Giants fan favourites will return, including Chuck-a-Puck game, a Shirt Off The Back raffle, and the world-famous Subway Cannon!

The real win on the night will be the much-needed funds raised for the Northern Ireland Hospice
