Fleur East and Reggie & Bollie bring X Factor to St Patrick's Day in Belfast

There’s plenty of ‘Uptown Funk’ in store as thousands of visitors and locals prepare to celebrate St Patrick’s Day in Belfast - and you’re invited to come and join the party!
At 12 noon on Friday, 17 March, a wonderfully vibrant parade themed simply ‘Belfast’ will depart from outside City Hall and make its way along Donegall Place, Royal Avenue, Donegall Street, Bridge Street and High Street before arriving at Custom House Square where the annual free concert, headlined by X Factor’s Fleur East, begins at 12.45pm with Pete, Paulo & Rebecca from Cool Breakfast on hosting duties.
The team said: “We’re excited to be involved in Belfast’s St Patrick’s Day Celebrations this year. With the line up on stage and the amazing energy of a Belfast audience, the atmosphere is going to be fantastic and we really can’t wait to see all the thousands of happy faces at this family friendly fun event!”
Speaking at the launch of Belfast’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations today, Lord Mayor, Alderman Brian Kingston, said: “You won’t want to miss this year’s St Patrick’s Day in Belfast. The hugely talented Beat Carnival have really outdone themselves in producing a breathtakingly colourful parade which celebrates the character and diversity of our city and our people”.
“The celebration promises to be bigger, more vibrant and more extraordinary than ever before, with participants from community groups from all over Belfast performing, accompanied by the impressive Glassdrumman, Cloughfin and Major Sinclair Memorial Pipe Bands”.
“And we’re delighted that representatives of the four major sporting events we’re proud to host in Belfast this year – the World Ice Hockey Championships, the World 24 Hour Running Championships, the Women’s Rugby World Cup and the UEFA Women’s Under 19 Championships will also be joining the parade.”
The Carnival Parade begins at City Hall at 12 noon and makes its way to Custom House Square, where a free concert will run from 12:45pm-3pm. Alongside Fleur, former XFactor R&B duo Reggie ‘n’ Bollie, London girl group Stooshe, the talented Belfast Boys’ Model Drummers and up tempo, traditional band The Rare Aul Stuff are all set to perform. There’ll also be a range of street theatre acts and face painters to keep even the youngest revellers entertained.
Entry to the concert is on a first come first served basis. Alcohol is strictly forbidden and other terms and conditions apply.
