Check out our top ten beach holiday hacks that you must read before going away on holiday, whether it's just for a weekend or a long break, you'll want to read these...

1) Quick removal of sand

We're sure you can relate to this situation - you've had a lovely day at the beach, but it's time to go home and you need to put your shoes on, but your feet are covered in sand.

Other than brushing it off, possibly the best way to remove it is by using baby powder! Baby powder removes moisture and the sand will just fall off!

2) Forget the towel, use a fitted sheet!

Forget using a towel to lie on at the beach, use a fitted sheet! Because the corners are elasticated it's more likely to keep the unwanted sand out and you can still use your towel to dry off after a dip.

3) Valuable nappy

Keeping your valuables safe when you're at the beach can be tricky, here is the first of two hacks that we have to try and keep away the thieves.

4) Don't forget when you last applied suncream

Regular use of suncream is very important, even when you're not at the beach, so make sure you keep track of when you last applied suncream by writing the time on the bottle. Now you won't forget!

5) Mesh laundry bag for kids's toys

If you have kids then you'll know they love their toys. However a trip to the beach can mean you often bring back more sand than intended. This is when a mesh laundry bag is the perfect bag choice. Fill the bag with your kids's toys and the sand will fall out the bottom!

6) Safety sun lotion bottle

Create your own handy little safe with an old sun cream bottle. Simply wash it out, cut through the middle and pop the top back on. Your valuables will be kept safe in the bottle.

7) Keep kids and their toys contained

Keep your young kids and their toys in one place on the beach by putting them in a small paddling pool without water. If you don't have a paddling pool then why not dig a hole in the sand that's big enough for them.

8) Don't come back to a burning hot steering wheel

If you've driven to the beach then there's nothing worse than getting back in the car to a boiling hot steering wheel. Next time when you park up remember to turn the steering wheel around so the bottom faces upwards. Then when you get in the car and turn it around the bit you hold will be cool.

9) Plastic bags are your best friend

We all know sand gets everywhere, so stop it getting in your valuables with this handy tip. Simply place your items in a resealable plastic bag to prevent any damage.

10) Forget the ice pack, use frozen water bottles

Instead of taking up valuable picnic space with freezer packs why not use water bottles which are frozen instead. They will still keep cold for hours and you can drink the water after, or re-freeze it for another time.

11) Sunburn relief

If you're unfortunate enough to get sunburn, then apparently shaving cream can help relieve the pain and quickly heal the redness. Leave shaving cream on the affected area for around 30 minutes before washing it off. For bad sunburn you can repeat again, but according to reports two sessions should be enough!
