Belfast mental health service in spotlight
By Staff Reporter,
DOZENS of people have held a protest over the potential closure of mental health facilities in Belfast.
It follows a consultation by the Belfast Health Trust into the provision of daytime mental health services.
Campaigners fear that if the proposals go through it will see some facilities in the area close.
Meanwhile, all week we have been running an exclusive series on mental health in Northern Ireland.
Our ‘ticking time-bomb’ series has included interviews with those impacted by mental illness.
They have called for more resources to be given to mental health services which have been described as the ‘Cinderella’ of the health service as a whole.
