Shayne Ward may have won the second ever series of The X Factor, but he will NOT be returning to the show for The X Factor: All Stars. The 34-year-old, who recently starred on Coronation Street as Aidan Connor, has told Closer magazine that he will not be joining the cast of the upcoming show.

Although he won the show in 2005, Shayne has told the publication that he won't be able to do the show due to scheduling clashes - but he'd have loved to return to the show that made him famous.

He said, "I can’t do All Stars because I’m contracted for something else. It’s gutting because I loved that show – I’m so proud of it. I’ve not spoken to or seen Louis in many years. It’s the same for Simon, although I did see him earlier this year at the Pride of Britain Awards.

"I love Simon – they were both my bosses for many years so it would be nice to see them again."

Of course, The X Factor's All Star edition isn't the only version of the show that we'll be seeing this year, as plenty of famous faces are apparently being lined up for the celebrity version.

Although Shayne didn't go into any details about what he was working on, his IMDb profile says that he's currently filming a psychological drama called Stairs, playing a character called Will Stanton.

The synopsis on IMDb reads, 'Special ops squad "Hell's Bastards" are sent to infiltrate a civil war to retrieve intel. The unit soon find themselves trapped on a never-ending stairwell forced to climb or die. To survive, they must revisit their past sins if they ever want to get off.'
