What was life really like in a notorious Peruvian prison?

The five-part series, entitled High: Confessions of an Ibiza Drug Mule, will focus primarily on Michaella McCollum, who was arrested alongside Melissa Reid in 2013.

The duo were attempting to smuggle £1.5 million worth of cocaine out of Peru in a suitcase.

McCollum, who is from Dungannon, was working in a nightclub in Ibiza at the time.

Their arrest caught the attention of news outlets across the world, and the pair quickly became known as the 'Peru Two'.

Both women were sentenced to almost seven years in jail before being released on probation having served three years behind bars.

The five-part series, tells the story of McCollum's time in prison, as well as how she negotiated an early release and coped with the international press coverage.

McCollum first detailed her experience in her book, You'll Never See Daylight Again.

This BBC documentary also includes exclusive interviews with McCollum's friends and family.

All episodes of High: Confessions of an Ibiza Drug Mule will be available on BBC iPlayer on Sunday July 4th, and the series will air on BBC One from Monday July 5th.
