After the exciting announcement that the Eurovision Song Contest will be heading to Liverpool this year, it's fair to say we are all chomping at the bit to find out who will be performing.

Irish pop band Wild Youth are in the running to represent Ireland in the world-famous competition.

Having toured with Niall Horan, Lewis Capaldi and Westlife to name just a few, band members David Whelan (vocals/guitar), Ed Porter (guitar/vocals), Conor O'Donohoe (keyboards/vocals), and Callum McAdam (drums) CANNOT wait for the chance to compete on such a global stage.

The band will be competing against five other musicians, including former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon, on the show where the winner will be selected by a combination of juries and a public vote.

Speaking ahead of the band's Eurovision offering, Conor said: “We wanna say a massive hello to all, our fans in Northern Ireland, we can’t wait to see you soon.

"We hope you love this song, and really hope you want to support and vote for us on February 3rd to represent Ireland.

"If we win, we promise we'll come up north and do a free show! So please, please vote!"

Cool FM’s PK is the band’s #1 fan and he thinks they would be a great competitor. “It’s every bands dream to be on the world stage! Wild Youth have the skill, presence and most importantly a brilliant tune to own the stage and impress every country, so get the votes in!"

Ireland’s six finalists will perform on the Late Late Show on Friday, February 3rd on RTE.

When will Eurovision 2023 take place?

The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place at the Liverpool Arena on Saturday 13th May with Semi-Finals on 9th and 11th May 2023.
