Last Friday night Adele was forced to stop her concert in Sydney as a fan suffered a cardiac arrest.
The 'Hello' singer suddenly stopped the intro to 'Rolling in the Deep', visibly shaken. With her voice trembling she said,
"Sorry, can we stop, I'm sorry...Sorry there's someone not well and I'm worried because there's fireworks and I don't want to scare them."
She went on to apologise to her fans saying,
"Sorry, someone got hurt... sorry I f*cking ruined the surprise for you. Sorry there was so much going on it frightened me, OK let's start again."
It later emerged that a 47-year-old fan had suffered a cardiac arrest and was taken to hospital by paramedics, as reported by Australian TV channel 9 News.
Talking to 9 News a fellow concertgoer said,
"It took a full song for the actual on-site medics to respond.
"They then started performing chest compressions for a good 15 to 20 minutes until ambulance officers arrived with proper equipment."
Another fan, Meg Rylance, was sitting near the lady who collapsed and said that they hadn't really noticed until Adele brought it to their attention.
"She actually seemed really tearful," Meg commented. Others took to social media after the incident.
The NSW Ambulance service confirmed they were called to treat someone who had suffered from a cardiac arrest, however they would not confirm the whether the incident happened inside the stadium. They later confirmed a patient was taken to a nearby hospital in a serious condition.
Adele is currently on tour in Australia and will be returning to the UK to perform at Wembley in June and July.
