The countdown for the most wonderful time of the year is on and as Christmas songs start to make their way onto radio.

It's less than a month until Downtown Radio flicks the festive switch to Downtown Christmas in December!

Unlike any other music genre, Christmas songs never seem to get old. From the Michael Bublé and Mariah Carey classics to the more modern Ed Sheeran and Elton John, we love them all.

Nothing beats that feeling of driving home for Christmas with the radio on full blast.

However a study from South China University of Technology found that songs over 120 BPM (beats per minute) lead to an increase in dangerous driving behaviours. Christmas songs and carols offer some of the highest BPMs, making them the and therefore are the most dangerous to drive to.

Irish Car Insurance experts Chill have analysed the BPMs of the Christmas number ones in Ireland over the years, to determine which are best to avoid when behind the wheel…
