The Script release their seventh album 'Satellites' with emotional statement

The Script have now released their seventh studio album 'Satellites'. The album, which features their song 'Both Ways' is the first to be released since band member Mark Sheehan sadly passed away in 2023.
The band, with the line-up of Danny O'Donoghue, Glen Power and new members Ben Sargeant and Ben Weaver, announced the release of their album on 16th August telling their fans: 'Our brand new album “Satellites” is OUT NOW! 🌌🎶
'This album is a journey through the highs and lows and we poured our hearts into every track, and we can’t wait for you to hear it. ❤️🎤 Let us know your favourite tracks using #ScriptSatellites. Your support means the world to us! 🌍💫'.
'Satellites' is the band's first album since 2019 when they released 'Sunsets & Full Moons' and it features 12 songs in total. The new music comes just a few months before they embark on their 'Satellites World Tour' which will see them perform at venues across the world, including several in the UK and Ireland.
Taking to Instagram to share the news of their album and tour back in May, Danny and Glen wrote: '#TheScriptFamily! We are so excited to announce our new album called SATELLITES is out 16 August! The first single from the album ‘Both Ways’ is out now! 📡
'AND we are going on TOUR! Tickets go on sale 9:30am local time Friday 24 May, pre-order the new album from the official store by 5pm BST on Tuesday to get exclusive pre-sale access from 9:30am BST Wednesday 22 May (IE and UK dates only). We hope you love it and we can’t wait to see you all soon! 🎤🥁🎸'.
After posting their news, fans left comments saying how excited they were, with one writing: 'The most amazing news❤️', and another saying: 'Oh wow!! This is so amazing 🤩🤩 best news ever 😍❤️❤️ so happy right now 😍❤️❤️ @thescriptofficial'.
Speaking about the new album, Danny explained: "The album cover is silhouettes of me, Glen and Ben Sargeant, our bassist, who's been with us from the beginning. Then we have a hooded silhouette, because the air of Mark is still there.
"He always will be, but it's also giving a tip of the hat to the future. It'll never be the same Script. We're just trying to get on and do what it is that we all feel is the next right thing to do and that’s to keep making more great music."
