RAYE is truly taking over the world of music right now. Having endured struggles at the start of her career in the music industry, she worked hard to independently release her debut album 'My 21st Century Blues', and she's now reaping her well-deserved rewards as a serious tour de force and we bask in her musical glow.

Now, she's released a new song from her upcoming second album, 'Where Is My Husband!' - and after listening to it 2,902,839 times already today, we can safely say you'll most likely be doing the same.

The upbeat track is RAYE's ode to her future - you guessed it - husband, with the singer wondering why it's taking so long to meet "The One". With lyrics like: 'Why is this beautiful man / Waiting for me to get old / Why he already testing my patience,' it's really refreshing to see RAYE's humour shine through and see more of the personality we've come to know and love.

The incredible big band orchestration is truly invigorating, and RAYE cleverly breaks down the track at various points, almost using her voice as a percussive instrument - and the super-fast outro will leave your head spinning!

Throughout the video, RAYE can be seen looking around confusedly for her hubby, often chasing after a man whose face can't be seen as if in a dream - and at the end, she's encouraged to "find yourself and love will find you."

Fans have rewatched the music video in droves, with the official YouTube upload seeing over 300,000 views within its first 14 hours of release. Many took to the comments to praise RAYE, with one writing: 'The video is so fun, aesthetic, and I love that it tells a clear story. This is my new favourite song.'

Official press for the song reads: ''WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!' is a sassy yet sincere ode to RAYE’s search for her life partner. Fusing funky brass, syncopated R&B beats, and glossy soul-pop production, the track showcases RAYE's signature soaring vocals and layered harmonies.

'Fans first heard the song as the opening number of her acclaimed Glastonbury set this summer, with subsequent performances at All Points East and the Montreux Jazz Festival.'

Never one to slow down, she's even announced an upcoming tour for 2026, performing around the world in the UK and Ireland, Europe and the USA. And if THAT wasn't enough, she even teased her upcoming album in the caption for the tour announcement.

She wrote: 'P.s the album is not done yet okay, but let’s just trust the process, love you 🥹🥲.' (sic)

Did 'Where Is My Husband!' chart?

It certainly did! RAYE peaked at Number 3 with the hit, and it was certified Silver after one month of release and Gold in November 2025. Pretty impressive!

RAYE goes behind the scenes of how she made 'Where Is My Husband!'

RAYE opened up about the making of the song in an incredible behind-the-scenes clip from the studio, revealing that the outro was previously going to be plainer - but she'd added a few bells and whistles to spice it up.

In the clip, she says: "Originally, it was just me going (performs musical run), but I was like nah we've gotta add the lyrics. Eight layers of me singing, 'I would like a ring'," before explaining how she'd used panning to elevate the track.

She later created a "part 2" of how she made the track, sharing another video to Facebook where she explained: "I'm a maximalist when it comes to production and vocals. Every bit of paint we can, we throw at it and then we rein it back.

"I don't like to have any regrets... Even though I have regrets! I think I'm gonna edit the master. We did some new brass parts at the NFL performance and I'm really upset that they're not in the record. I'll add those on the album version."

Demo version

RAYE also shared a clip of herself recording a demo of 'Where Is My Husband!' in November 2025, writing 'POV: In some random AirBnB the day we created WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!' alongside the caption: 'sounds a bit different today 😅'. (sic)

Is it really her grandma in the song?

Speaking of her grandma's feature on the song, RAYE revealed that she'd sent it through as a voice note one morning! "She was like upset a little bit because her voice sounded a little bit low because it was like first thing in the morning when she sent me the voice note, and I was like, 'Grandma, it sounds fine, don't worry.'"

We love you, RAYE!
