One Direction Annoyed After 'Midnight Memories' Leaks

The band are hoping it doesn't affect sales too badly

One Direction have voiced their disappointment after their upcoming third album ‘Midnight Memories’ leaked online.

The fervently awaited follow-up to 2012’s ‘Take Me Home’ isn’t released until next Monday (25th November) but there are already versions of the record being shared across the web.

Expressing his exasperation at the leak, Liam Payne told Digital Spy: "It’s annoying because there's this big build-up and it affects sales.

"We really want a number one, so we're just kind of hoping for the best now. Hopefully people go out and buy it."

Louis Tomlinson added: "It's just frustrating when you work so hard on an album and you kind of want everyone to hear it at the same time.

"Some select fans won't listen to it until it's out, which is great. But there are others who obviously can't help themselves."

Despondent at the inevitability of the leak, Liam Payne finished: "It happens these days all the time. There are some very clever people out there. You're buggers!" Boasting 14 songs across 48minutes, ‘Midnight Memories’ features the huge singles ‘Best Song Ever’ and ‘Story of My Life’.

Last year’s ‘Take Me Home’ charted at no.1 in the UK, however, despite selling almost a million copies their 2011 debut ‘Up All Night’ only peaked at no.2 on the chart.
