Nicky Byrne confirms Westlife's 12th album is complete
Finally something we can look forward to 👏
The four-piece Irish boy band know how to tease their fans, that's for sure!
Singer and presenter Nicky Byrne broke the news late last night that they have officially recorded everything for their upcoming 12th album!
Their first single "Swear It Again" was released back in April 1999, a studio album climbing the charts in November 1999. Two decades later, and the record-breaking band are excited to share their latest music.
By the looks of things, this album was a little different to make this time round. Nicky posted a selfie beside his pristine piano and trusty microphone last night, explaining the challenges of working from home.
"Recording our new album individually - and remotely from our homes has been one hell of an experience! Dogs Barking, doorbell going, WiFi dropping out to mention just a few 🤷♂️ but we got there in the end!
"Now fully recorded, it’s currently in the oven and cooking time is approx 2/3 months. We may open the oven door at some point to sample our brand spanking new single as a starter…😉🙏 in the meantime trust me - it’s starting to smell Devine! For now our working title shall be..#BangersNSmash🔥"
You just know this next album is going to be HUGE, the hype is already building!
Earlier this month, the band reunited after 514 days apart due to Covid-19 restrictions. And in classic Irish style, they met for a pint and whiskey, teasing fans on social with a snap captioned: "A good ‘old fashioned’ catch up after 514 days apart! Great to be back together 🎶 ☘️"
On St Patrick's Day they signed a new deal with Warner Music UK label East West Records, which has been home to acts such as The Corrs, Beverley Knight and Simply Red. Westlife's Shane Filan was also signed to them as a solo artist in 2015.
In March 2021, the band shared a lengthy statement on social media earlier, confirming they've parted ways with their record label EMI Records.
