Nicki Minaj Confirmed As MTV Europe Music Awards Host

Nicki Minaj has been unveiled as the big name host of the 20th MTV Europe Music Awards in Glasgow this November.

Posting a promotional photo of herself looking very regal, the controversial rapper told her 9million Instagram followers this morning that she will also sing live at the SSE Hydro ceremony on 9th November.

She wrote: “So excited to announce that I will not only perform, but I have the honorable task of HOSTING this year's MTV European Music Awards!!!!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!”

On what’s certain to be a very big night for Nicki, she’s also nominated for four awards – Best Female, Best Hip-Hop, Biggest Fans and Best Look.

Katy Perry leads the nominations charge with seven nods including Best Song (‘Dark Horse’), Best Pop, Best Live and Best Look.

Ariana Grande is close behind with six nomintations including Best Female where she will go head-to-head with Katy together with Beyoncé and Nicki.

5 Seconds of Summer and Pharrell Williams have both picked up five prestigious nods, while One Direction, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Eminem, Sam Smith and Kiesza have all received four nominations.

Live performers on the night include Sam Smith, Enrique Iglesias and Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst.
