Miley Cyrus has obliterated One Direction’s 24 hour VEVO Record with her latest video ‘Wrecking Ball’.

The Terry Richardson directed video, which controversially sees Miley strip naked (except for a pair of boots) and straddle a concrete demolition ball, notched up an incredible 19.3million views within a day of going online.

The figure dwarfs both the 12.3million record One Direction set back in July with ‘Best Song Ever’ and Miley’s previous highest tally of 10.7million with ‘We Can’t Stop’.

Thanking her fans, Miley Tweeted last night: “Y'all did went so above and beyond with wrecking ball :) I love you so much and thank you for breaking the vevo record!!!”

‘Wrecking Ball’ and ‘We Can’t Stop’ are both lifted from Miley’s upcoming fourth studio album ‘Bangerz’ which lands on Monday 7th October.
