Miley Cyrus to host MTV VMAs two years on from THAT twerking performance

Two years on from THAT twerking performance, Miley Cyrus has announced she’s hosting this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
Breaking the news to her 24million Instagram followers in her own unique way, Miley posted a pic of herself dressed in a green alien outfit wearing a sandwich board.
The text on the board reads: “MTV won’t let me perform. So I’m hosting this year’s VMAs.”
Taking place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday 30th August, it will be the first VMAs to have a host since Kevin Hart helmed the ceremony in 2012.
Miley attended her first VMAs aged 15 in 2008 where she was up against Katy Perry and Taylor Swift in the Best New Artist category.
Her infamous tongue-waggling, gyrating duet with Robin Thicke in New York in 2013 brought the infamous “twerking” into the mainstream and stole newspaper covers across the globe.
Then last year she stole then show when she invited her homeless date Jesse Helt on stage with her to accept her Video of the Year gong for Wrecking Ball.
