On Saturday, the stand-up comedian graced Cool listeners to his very own version of one of the singer-songwriter’s many latest offerings ‘Galway girl.’
The parody named ‘Lurgan girl,’ lovingly written by Rodney himself took eight hours to perfect.
But he says he ran out of steam after the epic song-writing marathon and didn’t have a video in him. The solution was to use his classic Rodney background with the lyrics printed, for karaoke purposes of course.
Stuart Robinson’s Saturday show sidekick, brazenly tweeted the artist calling him “wee mucker” with the unusual request of performing live together if his hits reach the one million mark.
Within just an hour, the video had 30,000 views.
The lyrics feature: “She’s a skitter, she made me follow her on twitter, my heart breaks, I just wanna be with her.”
With the chorus running along the lines of; “she played the triangle in a local band but she fell in love with a comedian.”
