Gary Barlow says he wants Take That’s seventh studio album to sound “big and dramatic.”

!42-year-old Gary has quit his judging role on The X Factor so he can focus on Take That’s new record and he’s got grand ambitions!

"The main reason I've decided to step away from X Factor is to focus on Take That, definitely," Gary said.

"I see Take That as my main job, so it comes first. If the band are doing something then everything else moves to one side.

"I haven't written any songs with Take That yet - we're literally going to start in January.

"We'll get together and talk about what we're doing and where we are. We'll ask, 'What's happening in music, where shall we go from here?'"

Asked about the musical direction of album no.7, Gary added to The Daily Mirror: "We don't usually go too far from our own direction but it'll be big and dramatic - orchestral.

"I think it'll be anticipated. By next Christmas it'll have been four years since our last record - we can't wait."

Gary’s fourth solo album ‘Since I Saw You Last’ is released next Monday (25th November).

The album boasts the current single ‘Let Me Go’ (watch Gary’s performance on The X Factor below) and the Elton John collaboration ‘Face To Face’.

Gary could be locked in a chart battle with Robbie Williams who releases his second swing record ‘Swings Both Ways’ today!
