Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' Gets Through The Decades Remix

Listen to the amazing chronological reworking

Published 12th Jun 2013

A jaw-dropping reworking of Daft Punk’s international smash ‘Get Lucky’ has been unveiled.

French musician PV Nova’s amazing video ‘Evolution Of Get Lucky’ reimagines the track through the popular music of each decade from the 1920s to the future 2020s.

The grainy gramophone jazz 1920s version of ‘Get Lucky’ kicks off proceedings before PV introduces bluesy sounds of the thirties and big band style music from the 1940s.

From Elvis-esque rock (1950s) we then traverse into dreamy sixties psychedelic rock and the dancefloor disco sounds of the 1970s.

The 1980s segue features stabs of synthesisers and electro before we’re transported into the novelty pop of the nineties and the Justin Timberlake-esque highly polished R&B of the noughties.

Finishing things off, the 2010s feature an injection of Skrillex-like dubstep and, with PV looking into his crystal ball, the 2020s are characterised by crunching electronic rhythms.

Since being uploaded to YouTube on Monday, the video has been watched an impressive 600,000 views and shows no sign of slowing down.

One of the defining anthems of 2013, ‘Get Lucky’ is lifted from Daft Punk’s critically acclaimed fourth album ‘Random Access Memories’ which is available to download now.
