Heartstopper finishes production as the feature film is given official title 🍂

Following the release of the third season of Netflix hit Heartstopper last year, back in April it was announced a finale for the series based on Alice Oseman's graphic novels, would be released as a film.
The film started production earlier this year, with Joe Locke confirming recently they have now wrapped, as the movie's official name has also been announced, along with a release year.
What is the film called?
The film has been confirmed to be called Heartstopper Forever. On 28th July, the official Heartstopper account announced the exciting news with a short video.
How was the film announced?
Netflix announced the exciting news on social media, sharing a photo of Alice, along with lead actors Kit Connor and Joe Locke, writing: '‼️HUGE NEWS‼️ The Heartstopper movie is officially in production 🍂'.
Fans of the show were quick to leave excited comments, with one writing: 'The beginning of the end, but also the start of forever... ❤️', with another saying: '🍂🍂Oh my God, I can’t believe it’s official, this is a great day to be a heartstopper fan 🍂🍂'. (sic)
The show, which celebrated the third anniversary of its release on 22nd April, will come to a conclusion through a feature-length film starring lead actors Kit and Joe.
The news was initially shared on social media, back in April, with a video captioned: 'happy 🍂day! a heartstopper movie, our final chapter based on alice oseman’s upcoming volume six, is coming'. (sic)
Speaking about the announcement of the film finale, creator Alice said: "I am completely overjoyed that we will get to tell the end of the Heartstopper story. I’m so grateful to everyone who has worked hard to make this possible and to the incredible fans of Heartstopper for your patience and passion. I cannot wait to bring this story to a magical conclusion."
After the initial announcement, Netflix then shared another video featuring highlights from past series, following Nick and Charlie's relationship journey.
According to Netflix, the synopsis for the film reads: 'Nick and Charlie are inseparable, but with Nick preparing to leave for university and Charlie finding new independence at school, the reality of a long-distance relationship begins to weigh on them. Doubts take hold, and their relationship faces its biggest challenge yet.
'Meanwhile, their friends are also navigating the ups and downs of love and friendship, confronting the bittersweet challenges of growing up and moving on. Can first loves really last forever?'
When will the Heartstopper film be released?
The release date has not yet been announced, however, in July 2025 it was revealed it would be released in 2026.
Joe Locke, who plays the role of Charlie confirmed that filming had wrapped, sharing a photo with the caption: 'bye charlie x thankyou <3'. (sic)
He also shared a Story on Instagram writing: 'Wrapped forever'.
Who will be executive producers?
As well as playing the lead roles, Kit Connor and Joe Locke will serve as executive producers.
