She's been replying to fans again!
Last updated 19th Sep 2018
Even though it's been over eleven years since the last Harry Potter book was released, fans all over the world are still scouring the pages for hidden messages which means there are literally thousands of fan theories on the internet. The latest one surrounds the thing that had us baffled for quite a long time, how do you pronounce Hermione?!
We were fine with Harry, Ron and even Hagrid but Voldemort and Hermione really left us struggling. One fan posted a theory that author J.K. Rowling put a part in the book with Hermione Granger teaching love interest Viktor Krum how to pronounce her name as a way to also teach all of us too. It makes sense, we were going around saying HER-MY-OWN until book four 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' when we found out it's actually HER-MY-OH-NEE.
Now J.K. Rowling has confirmed that this is actually TRUE!
Here's what the kids from Harry Potter looked like then and now

After the author's retweet, fans took to Twitter to share their own thoughts on how they were saying the name when they first read the books.
It's not just how to say Hermione that had fans baffled, three years ago J.K Rowling let us know that we've been saying He Who Must Not Be Named's name wrong. It turns out the 't' in Voldemort is actually silent. This makes total sense as Rowling is a quarter French.
We think we're due another read of the books now!
