Zac Efron to join Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in Baywatch film
Baywatch is coming to the big screen.
Dwayne Johnson has recently announced Zac Efron will be joining him on the set of the new 'Baywatch' film.
Details on the cast have been kept quiet until late last night when the former wrestler posted a tweet saying "BIG NEWS: Welcoming my dude @ZacEfron to #BAYWATCH."
Followed by a tweet mentioning Entertainment Weekly saying "Me and bud @ZacEfron been talkin' bout this one for a long time".
And lastly a tweet mentioning MTV News saying "Shirtless heaven and bikini dreams. And some good ol' fashion "this is my beach b*tch" RATED R humor".
'Baywatch' has been in the pipeline for a while, in fact it was late last year when Dwayne Johnson first posted a photo of himself on a jet ski on Instagram saying "Rumors are true... we're making #BAYWATCH the movie. Edgy, raunchy and hopefully, funny as all hell."
I think it's safe to say that the film version of this classic nineties TV show can't take itself too seriously but we can't wait to see what happens. Filming for 'Baywatch' is due to start early next year.
There have been no more announcements on the cast, but we really hope a few of the original cast make a cameo appearance.
Below is a photo showing some of the original cast, from left to right, Alexandra Paul (who plays Lt. Stephanie Holden), David Charvet (Matt Brody) & Pamela Anderson (C.J. Parker).
