Actress Kristen Bell left a voicemail in the voice of her Frozen character Princess Anna for a young girl with an inoperable brain tumour.

Six-year-old Frozen fan Avery Huffman was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) last month. In the wake of her devastating prognosis, her dad Brandon did something very special to bring some cheer to Avery.

In the heart-warming footage Brendan uploaded to YouTube, he holds the phone up to Avery as Kristen in full Princess Anna character leaves a poignant message.

Upon hearing the voice of her favourite character, Avery’s face noticeably lights up with joy.

Congratulating her on being “so brave” and a “good girl”, the voicemail sees Princess Anna tell Avery that her sister Queen Elsa would love to make her an honorary princess of their kingdom Arendelle.

The video went viral and has now been seen over 2million times on YouTube.

Writing in a blog post, Brandon said: "I'll admit, I've watched the video of (Avery) hearing from Anna/Kristen Bell around 50 times, just to watch her face light up, and to hear her giggle and see her smile.

"Seeing it go viral and so many people sharing the same emotions I have when I watch it, I'm constantly reminded that while Avery is going through the worst possible fight anyone should have to, she's touching so many people's hearts and her fight and toughness is reaching so many people.

"I shouldn't be surprised, though, because she's been touching her mum and I's hearts since they day she was born."
