Taylor Swift’s Twitter and Instagram accounts were both attacked by hackers last night.

A number of messages were posted by the hackers to Taylor’s collective 70million followers, including a call to follow a user called @Lizzard, who calls himself/herself an “original digital gangster.”

The posts were retweeted thousands of times but were swiftly deleted and @Lizzard’s account was suspended by Twitter.

After discovering she had been hacked, Taylor told her fans via a tumblr post: "My Twitter got hacked but don't worry, Twitter is deleting the hacker tweets and locking my account until they can figure out how this happened and get me new password.”

Later discovering that her Instagram had also been infiltrated, Taylor joked to her faithful Swifties: “This is going to be a long day.”

Regaining access to Twitter, Taylor thanks Paramore singer Hayley Williams for texting her about the hack and ruled out that she would ever be engulfed in a nude photo leak as no images exist.

She wrote: "PS any hackers saying they have 'nudes'? Psssh you'd love that wouldn't you! Have fun photoshopping cause you got NOTHING."

Taylor Swift will perform at The BRIT Awards at the O2 Arena in London next month where she will go head-to-head with Beyonce, Lana Del Rey, Sia and St Vincent in the International Female Solo Artist category.
