Taking to Twitter to share the news, the singer from the now three-piece band wrote: "I have some amazing news to share with you all.....Katie and I are having a baby! so proud of my beautiful wife and can't wait for the newest member of our family to arrive." Howard already has two daughters, Grace (born 1999) by Victoria Piddington and Lola (born 2005), by Marie-Christine Musswessels.
Howard met Katie when the band filmed a 'Marks & Spencer' Christmas TV advert in 2008 but they didn't start dating until 2010. The couple got married on the 2nd January at an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family.
Howard later tweeted that the baby was due in early January and invited followers to guess the sex of the baby:
