Rock School star Chris Hardman, aka Lil' Chris, dies aged 24

His family and friends pay tribute

TV personality and musician Lil’ Chris has died at the age of just 24.

Suffolk police were called to an address in Union Road, Lowestoft at 11.45am today (24th March) after receiving a report that a man had died suddenly.They are not treating the death as suspicious.

In the wake of the devastating news, Chris’s family and friends have been paying tribute to him on social media today.

His close friend : “I can not believe I'm doing this and I'm completely devastated. Rest in peace brother bear. Love you mate. Chris Hardman Aka Lil' Chris.”

Born Christopher James Hardman in August 1990, Lil’ Chris shot to fame aged 15 when he appeared in the second series of Channel 4’s Rock School alongside KISS rocker Gene Simmons.

After being selected as the winning band Hoax UK’s frontman, they went on to support Judas Priest, Rob Zombie and Anthrax at a concert in Long Beach, California

He was later signed to RCA Records and hit number three with his debut single ‘Checkin It Out’ in September 2006.

As well as releasing two studio albums, Lil’ Chris supported McFly on their extensive UK tour throughout 2007 and appeared on a variety of TV shows including Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Weakest Link Celebrity Special and Everybody Loves Lil’ Chris.

In his final Tweet on 18th March, Chris told his followers: “Good morning everybody! Lovely day! Love you all x”

RIP Lil ‘Chris.
