Reaction: The World stands with Nice on social media

Celebrities and politicians have been expressing their solidarity.

Following the terrible news coming out of France late last night celebrities and politicians have taken to social media to express their solidarity with France and the French people.

Rihanna was due to perform in the French Riviera city tonight (15th July) as part of her Anti tour, but the performance has now been cancelled with the singer posting on Instagram.

'Our thoughts are with the victims and their families.'

Meanwhile French dance DJ David Guetta posted on Instagram a message in French which translates as,

'Our thoughts go to Nice tonight and France a country of love, I still want to believe,' alongside an image of three hearts in the colour of the French flag, the Tricolor.

Meanwhile DJ/producer Mark Ronson posted a photo of the Metlife building in New York lit up in the colours of the Tricolor without a caption.

Meanwhile other celebrities have also expressed their solidarity with Nice.

Away from the showbiz world the widower of Jo Cox, the Labour MP who was tragically killed in her constituency last month, has tweeted saying 'Jo wld ask us not 2 fight hate with hate'.

Whilst politicians around the world have said they stand with France.

The producer of Fifty Shades Darker (the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey) which was filming nearby has also confirmed that all the cast and crew have been accounted for.
