Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend of four years, Maxx Morando have got engaged! After the couple stepped out onto the red carpet at the Avatar: Fire and Ash premiere earlier this week, fans were speculating congratulations were in order, and now the singer has confirmed the happy news.
After fans spotted the piece of bling, rumours of the couple's engagement started to swirl, then, just hours later, Maxx's dad Dan Morando confirmed the news on Threads, writing: 'Congratulations! ❤️ 💍🍾🎉 @mileycyrus @mmaxxm', sharing several photos of the couple, along with a close up of the ring. The news was also confirmed by a source to People.com.
Following the premiere of the new film, for which Miley has provided a song called 'Dream As One', the singer shared several photos from the event, where fans can see the ring on her finger.
Thousands of fans left messages for the singer and Maxx, with one writing: 'so so so happy for you both, congrats mc + max 🥺 we ❤️ ' (sic), another said: 'I’m so so happy for you i could cry'. (sic)
Miley confirms her engagement
Speaking to Good Morning America after the premiere, Miley revealed how her fiancé proposed to her while they were on a recent trip to Asia, getting down on one knee. "I am not easy to surprise, because I love to control every situation," Miley admitted.
"And I had completely surrendered, and I'm telling you, I was so, so, so surprised... When I came back home I went straight into the Pandora, Avatar world, people think of it as a film that's larger than life, in the grand scale, but actually at the heart of Avatar its really about relationships, love, having each others' back, so it actually felt very aligned with my life."
Fans first spot Miley's engagement ring
Miley was first spotted wearing a ring in November, with fans even noticing it on a photo posted in late November, where the singer can be seen with a birthday cake. However, as the time nothing was confirmed.
Miley shared two black and white photos with a birthday cake, writing: '33 is already burning bright thanks to the warmth of your sweet birthday wishes. All I want this year is more laughs with the people who give me the little smile lines that are starting to show up. 🤍 I love you all.'
Miley and Maxx have been together for four years. Opening up in an interview with British Vogue, Miley told the publication in the June 2023 issue that she started dating Maxx a couple of summers ago.
The singer recounted how they met, saying: "We got put on a blind date. Well, it was blind for me and not really for him. I thought, ‘The worst that can happen is I leave.’"
Miley also opened up about their relationship in her interview with Good Morning America, telling Chris Connelly: "Me and Maxx have been together for four years and it's very obvious, the drastic amount of growth that I've had in those four years. You just want to dream the biggest you can and you want to have someone by your side who always tells you, you can do it."
Along with their personal relationship, Miley and Maxx worked together on the singer's latest album 'Beautiful Something', with Maxx co-producing the album.
