Margot Robbie and Jack O'Connell Up For Bafta Rising Star Award

Shailene Woodley, Miles Teller and Gugu Mbatha-Raw are also nominated

Skins actor Jack O’Connell, Wolf of Wall Street’s Margot Robbie and Fault in Our Stars actress Shailene Woodley are among the five young actors nominated for the prestigious EE Bafta Rising Star award.

Also in the running for the honour, which is now in its tenth year, are Divergent star Miles Teller and Belle actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

Decided entirely by public vote, the winner will be unveiled at the lavish Bafta Film Awards ceremony in London on Sunday 8th February.

The awards celebrate young stars who have already demonstrated a promising talent and are destined for even greater things in the future.

The nominees are picked by a panel of industry experts and are chosen regardless of gender and nationality, and whether they made their breakthrough on television or film.

Previous winners of the award since its inception are James McAvoy, Eva Green, Shia LaBeouf, Noel Clarke, Kristen Stewart, Tom Hardy, Adam Deacon, Juno Temple and Will Poulter.

Speaking about his nomination, Derby born actor Jack O’Connell, who recently starred in Angelina Jolie’s war epic Unbroken, said he is "honoured to be considered amongst such a talented field".
