Louis Walsh is set to return to X Factor but it's not in the way you might think...
The former judge, who left the show last year, has paid £20,000 in a charity auction at the Music Industry Trusts Awards to rejoin the show for a day during rehearsals.
Louis will now rejoin his old show as a judge for a dress rehearsal, but is not thought to be set to appear on screen.
During his time on the show he was known for backing controversial acts such as Wagner and having a love/hate relationship with Simon Cowell.
When Louis won the auction Simon Cowell reportedly looked shocked but stood up and laughed.
The X Factor has been struggling with viewing figures this series and has been losing the ratings war to rival show 'Strictly Come Dancing.'
