Katy Perry will headline the Super Bowl halftime show next February.

Announcing the news to her 60million Twitter followers, Katy said she’s “started testing out ideas” and “can’t wait for February 1st.”

A promotional video has also been unveiled in which Katy tries out some themes for the show.

They include covering the entire stadium in pink glitter and incorporating mega sharks breathing fire, sparkly unicorns and fluffy white kittens into the performance. Wow.

The prestigious halftime slot is the most watched music event in America with 111.5million people tuning in earlier this year. Many millions more watch around the globe.

Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Madonna and The Black Eyed Peas are among the big name artists who have performed at the Super Bowl in recent years.

Michael Jackson, U2, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and Justin Timberlake have also graced the coveted slots in the past.

Super Bowl XLIX takes place at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on the 1st February.
