John Travolta Fluffs Idina Menzel’s Name At The Oscars: Watch
Adele Dazim, anyone?!
John Travolta had just one job at The Oscars: to introduce a performance by Broadway star Idina Menzel. However, he failed spectacularly!
Clearly struggling with his autocue, the 60-year-old actor held up well until he came to pronounce Idina’s name – after a short pause the mumbling utterance that came from his lips sounded more like “Adele Dazim” than Idina Manzel.
Naturally, the mispronunciation sparked an explosion of disparaging comments on Twitter, with one user writing: “Dear John Travolta, I'm pretty sure Idina Menzel fans won't Let It Go for quite some time.”
Idina went on to perform a stunning rendition of the knockout ballad ‘Let It Go’ from the animated film Frozen, which won the coveted Best Original Song award on the night.
Frozen itself triumphed in the Best Animated Film category ahead of Despicable Me 2, The Croods, Ernest & Celestine and The Wind Rises.
