Gary Barlow surprises fan with wedding performance
He offered to sing at people's weddings on Twitter
Take That frontman Gary Barlow surprised a fan over the Bank Holiday weekend by performing at her wedding in Berkshire.
The former X Factor judge shocked ‘super fan’ Danielle Jones when he arrived at her wedding ceremony to perform Take That’s 1992 hit ‘A Million Love Songs’ for her and groom Darrel.
The singer had initially told Danielle that he was unable to make it, but secretly organised the surprise alongside one of her bridesmaids.
Mrs Jones explained that she and her husband had just finished their first dance when her maid of honour led her to the surprise guest.
“He was stood immediately in front of me – I was nearly not breathing for quite a long time,” she said.
Barlow initially made his offer to sing at people’s weddings in January and said he receives “thousands of requests” on Twitter.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed last month that Barlow will create a musical based on 2013 film 'Calendar Girls'.
The project will be a joint venture with tourism agency Welcome To Yorkshire.
Chief executive of the agency, Gary Verity said: "To have someone of Gary Barlow's calibre working on a Yorkshire musical is amazing and I'm sure, like the Calendar Girls film and the stage play, this musical will be a huge success".
