Ed Sheeran is now one of the biggest popstars in the world, but it wasn’t always that way.
Jamie Foxx has revealed that he let Ed crash at his house as he tried to make it in the music industry.
The Oscar winning actor told PA: “He sought me out, came to my house, he slept on my couch for, like, about a few weeks.”
Fox added “I took him down to a live night to see him perform in front of a raucous crowd, he pops out with a ukulele, gets a standing ovation and I knew right there he was going to be something special.”
“So I would give him food, let him work on his music and my daughter looked in on him and said, ‘That guy’s about to be the next guy’.”
Fox also revealed that Ne-Yo had a stint on his sofa before making it, explain “my house is that type of house for artists”
Fox was right, Ed has gone on to have three award winning albums. His most recent album ‘÷' was the fast selling album by a male artist ever. Ed headlines the Pyramid Stage on Sunday at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
