Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh has vented her anger and frustration after being conned out of £1,000 for a holiday villa in Ibiza.

The actress revealed she transferred the money to a foreign company’s bank account, only to later find out the apartment didn’t exist.

Writing in her magazine column, the 40-year-old said "We found a gorgeous villa in San Antonio with a company, booked it, and then wired more than £1,000 straight into a Spanish bank account. Everything seemed legit and above board, and we even had email from the owners thanking us for making the payment. But then we didn't hear anything else, they just disappeared off the face of the earth. A couple of days before we were all due to fly out, we tried calling a phone number on the website, only to learn it didn't exist!"

After discovering she wasn’t the only one to have been conned by the scam, she put out a warning to other people writing “There are some nasty people out there, so be careful and let’s hope they don't manage to fool anyone else!"

Kym was due to fly to Ibiza with her 18-year-old daughter Emilie Mae Cunliffe as the teenager hopes to kick start her music career by promoting her brand new single.

Emilie, who appeared on The Voice, is following in her mum’s music footsteps following her successful stint in the band Hear’Say.

Kym won singing competition Popstars with the group before leaving to fulfil her acting career in 2002. She later joined Coronation Street in 2006 and has portrayed the role of Michelle Connor since.
