Britain’s Got Talent slammed for ‘boring’ first live semi-final

Viewers left underwhelmed at first live show

It’s been a long wait for the first live Britain’s Got Talent show so when the first semi-final aired last night fans of the show were excited for a night of talent, however they were left extremely disappointed.

In the show which featured mother and son duo, Mel and Jamie, singer Kathleen Jenkins, impressionist Darren Altman and danger man, Ben Blaque, viewers were certainly not impressed with the British talent on offer.

Many took to Twitter to vent their disappointment at the show:

Fans had to wait almost 90 minutes until they finally enjoyed a part of the show when Alesha’s golden buzzer act 100 Voices Of Gospel took to the stage.

With a fun and uplifting performance the choir received a standing ovation from all four judges as well as the studio audience.

Viewers also showed their appreciation on Twitter.

After a thirty-minute break and a guest performance from the cast of Motown the first semi-final results were announced by Ant and Dec.

Unsurprisingly 100 Voices of Gospel sailed through to Saturday night’s final with the most votes, leaving Mel and Jamie and Kathleen Jenkins to stand before the judges.

After the judges split their votes for the two acts, it was up to the public vote to decide who would make it through to the final.

Receiving the most votes, mother and son duo, Mel and Jamie will join 100 Voices Of Gospel in Saturday night’s final.

With many of the shows favourites still to perform this week, viewers will be hoping for a more exciting show as the week goes on.

Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals continue every weeknight from 7.30pm.
