Star of The Big Bang Theory Jim Parsons has married his long-term boyfriend of 14 years, Todd Spiewak.

The actor, who is most famous for playing the role of Sheldon Cooper in the hit show, tied the knot with Todd at New York's Rainbow Room restaurant.

Jim shared an intimate snap from his big day to his Instagram page with the caption, '5.13.17 ❤️Rainbow Room, NYC 📷 by @ambergressphotography 🎉 by @melissamcneeley 💐🌸🌺by @doan_ly.'

Jim later shared a number of images from his first dance with Todd. Alongside the three photos he wrote, 'Reception, first dance... (have to say thank you to #anniepsaltaris who was supposed to just be a guest but worked really hard to help us get the @tomford tuxes we loved so much AND she tied the bow ties of several guests that night. Annie is a champ and we love her ❤️)'

Despite being together for 14 years, Jim didn't come out gay until 2012 when he confirmed he'd been in a 10-year relationship with Todd.

Jim melted fans' hearts last year when he shared an adorable message about his relationship with Todd to celebrate their 14th anniversary.

Taking to his Instagram page to share a selfie of the pair, Jim wrote, 'I met this guy (the one with the mic) 14 years ago today and it was the best thing that ever happened to me, no contest. One of his greatest gifts to me is that he no longer takes me to sing karaoke. Also, I believe this was a selfie with an actual camera, as our phones couldn't do that back then hahaha! #todd #anniversary ❤️'.

The popular actor has previously spoken about marriage, but back in 2014 during an interview on American TV show The View,Jim admitted they were in no rush as gay marriage hadn't always been an option.

Congratulations to Jim and Todd! 💒
