Spring has officially sprung, the kids are off school and Easter is just around the corner.

Northern Ireland's weather has fluctuated a lot over the last few weeks – so, what can we expect over the bank holiday weekend?

There is some good news as forecasters are predicting an "unseasonably warm and dry" start to Easter in Northern Ireland.

Temperatures could reach record-breaking highs of 21-22C by Good Friday in the west of the province.

According to the Met Office; "Many places will be fine and dry for Holy Thursday and Good Friday, with warm sunny spells."

"The second half of the Easter weekend will slowly turn more changeable and cooler, with outbreaks of rain spreading in from the northwest on Monday."

The mini-heatwave could put parts of the province hotter than Barcelona where temperatures are expected to climb to 18C and on a par with Portugal where it will be 17C.

With Easter falling so late this year, there was always a good chance there would be some fine weather.
