The incredible Myles Smith is undoubtedly one of the hottest rising stars in music at the moment. Thanks to his captivating lyrics and soulful voice, he gave us his hit single 'Stargazing', which landed in the UK Top 10. In 2025, Myles performed at Glastonbury, supported Ed Sheeran and performed at Hits Radio Live Birmingham AND Manchester.

From releasing his EP 'You Promised Me A Lifetime', to becoming a 2025 BRITs Rising Star winner, and bringing out Shaboozey while on tour, we can't wait for Myles' next move. Get to know the 'My Home' singer a little bit better, including where he's from, to how his hit single came about and where you can catch him live...

Who is Myles Smith?

Myles Smith is an English singer and songwriter, who stormed the charts with his hit single 'Stargazing'. He taught himself to play guitar and piano at a young age, going on to perform at local open-mic nights from as young as 12-years-old.

Despite becoming a household name for his track 'Stargazing', you may also recognise his vocals from his various viral cover songs, which he has been posting on TikTok since 2020. Some of his most popular covers include an acoustic of The Neighbourhood's 'Sweater Weather', as well as Amber Run's 'I Found'.

"Covers (were) an opportunity to find an audience that I thought would match with the music I would eventually create", Myles told Billboard.

Speaking to Hits Radio, Myles spoke about studying Sociology and Social Policy at university, saying: "A big part of my life has always been trying to understand the differences in community, and trying to understand what makes difference beautiful, and I think that's a big part in my music, and I try to highlight the things that are important to me, and try to always stay true and authentic to who I am, and let that shine through."

How old is he?

Myles was born on 3rd June 1998, making him 27-years-old at the time of writing.

Where is he from?

The singer was born in Luton, England, to a Jamaican family, and was raised in Bedfordshire, where he was influenced by his town's rich cultural diversity. The local music scene also offered much inspiration for Myles, exposing him to plenty of hip-hop and grime, as well as encouraging him to explore his own musical interests and style.

Growing up, Myles enjoyed a plethora of musical genres. With Reggae at the forefront, his mother and siblings' love of artists such as Whitney Houston, Destiny’s Child, Ne-Yo and Justin Timberlake whet his musical appetite.

Hits Radio Live 2025

Myles performed at Hits Radio Live Birmingham and Manchester. At both events he brought the shows to a close singing his hits 'Wait For You', 'Nice To Meet You', 'Stay (If You Wanna Dance)' and 'Stargazing'.

In Manchester, in front of 15,000 people, the singer wowed the audience performing his hits as they all joined in to sing his Top 5 single 'Stargazing'. See the moment below...

Myles Smith's 'Stargazing'

Widely considered the singer's breakout hit, Myles released his single 'Stargazing' on 10th May 2024. Now certified 2x Platinum in the UK, the song hit the Number 4 spot in the UK chart.

Myles wrote the song in Malibu, California, shortly after signing his record deal with RCA. With the majority of the song allegedly written in 15 minutes, Myles told Billboard: "I get back to West Hollywood at two or three in the morning, and I play the day-of demo on the speakers in the ceiling.

"I remember my manager waking up on the sofa like, ‘What is this?’ Everyone in the house is running and jumping around. For my team - my harshest critics, after my mum - to give me that genuine reaction, I knew I was on to something."

Speaking to Hits Radio, Myles discussed his journey with writing music, where he admitted it's now all about having fun.

In May 2025, 'Stargazing' won PRS for Music Most Performed Work at The Ivors 2025. Going up against huge hits, like Harry Styles' 'As It Was', 'Houdini' by Dua Lipa, 'Last Christmas' by Wham! and 'Prada' by Cassö, RAYE and D-Block Europe, it was quite the accolade!

What other popular songs has he released?

'Nice To Meet You'

The catchy and melodic 'Nice To Meet You' was released on 8th November 2024 along with the official music video. The song is certainly a foot tapper - and it's no surprise that it raked in over 2.5 million views on YouTube in just two weeks, as well as being certified Platinum in the UK in June 2025.

Flying up the UK charts, Myles said of the track: "It's inspired by stories from friends in my life. A reminder that the right person can change everything, often when you least expect it."

'My Home'

Myles released 'My Home' independently, through Ditto Music, in November 2023. The song has been described as a heartfelt ode to the safe haven that can be created by a loved one, or someone who you share an emotional connection with - with lyrics such as: 'Like a shelter from the storm, a fireplace that keeps me warm', and: 'Somehow with you, I don't feel alone'.

It was certified Silver by the BPI in October 2025, with 200,000 UK sales.

'Solo'

Another track released independently through Ditto Music, Myles gifted us with the catchy 'Solo' in December 2023. The track documents the emotions following a breakup, conveying confusion, loneliness and sadness, with lyrics such as: 'Why'd you get me so high, to leave me so low? To leave me solo?', and: 'I was wasting my time hoping you'd call, but, damn, you're so cold'.

It's since been certified Silver, selling 200,000 records.

'Sweater Weather'

Myles gained mass recognition when he posted his cover of The Neighbourhood's 2013 hit 'Sweater Weather'. Initially posting the acoustic cover on TikTok, Myles later released the track as a single.

Is Myles going on tour?

He has now finished his UK leg, which took place earlier in 2025. Despite no more UK tour dates he performed at Glastonbury this year and supported none other than Ed Sheeran on Friday 11th July, when he started his trio of gigs at Ipswich Town FC.

Discussing with Hits Radio his dream place to perform, Myles admitted he would love to: "Bring something big back to Luton" - so who knows what else the singer may have in the pipeline!

His collab with Shaboozey

While on tour in Los Angeles in April 2025, Myles brought out singer Shaboozey. The pair then performed a new song called 'Blink Twice' which was released on 11th April.

They have now released a music video for their collab.

Did Myles perform at Glastonbury?

Yes! He was announced for the Glastonbury 2025 line-up, along with Olivia Rodrigo, JADE, Rod Stewart, Charli XCX and RAYE, to name a few. He performed on Friday 27th June. At the event, the stage had to be closed off due to the sheer amount of fans trying to get in, leaving Myles full of emotion. He said in a post on Instagram:

'I had a small cry after this set. Never in my wildest dreams did I think this stage would be full. Just before we went on I was told that they shut off the stage for overcrowding. The support overwhelmed me in all the best ways. You guys have given me so much light in a difficult year. Thank you for getting me through.

'l always try my best with you around. Thank you a million times. I genuinely owe you everything. Still doesn't feel real, and I never want it to.'

Glastonbury Festival 2024

Captivating the crowd with his powerful vocals and heartfelt lyrics, it's fair to say that Myles Smith's performance at Glastonbury 2024 was one to remember. Performing on the Greenpeace Field stage, the perfectly timed sunset brought his electrifying show to the perfect close.

Has he won a BRIT Award?

Yes! And he was nominated for two more. Myles Smith won the BRITs Rising Star Award 2025 — and was nominated for Pop Act and Best New Artist. The 2025 BRIT Awards ceremony took place on Saturday 1st March.

Myles joined fellow artists Elmiene and Good Neighbours on the shortlist for the Rising Star Award, with the news announced on Tuesday 26th November. On his nomination, the singer said: "I’m incredibly honoured to be nominated for the BRITs Rising Star award. Growing up in Luton, I started playing pubs and open mic nights when I was just 12 and music quickly became my way of understanding the world and connecting with others.

"This recognition feels like a reflection of that journey – the highs, the challenges and the incredible people who’ve supported me along the way. Thank you for seeing me, for listening and for believing in the music. It means the world."

The singer also performed at the March ceremony, entertaining guests with 'Nice to Meet You' and 'Stargazing'.

Is he releasing an album?

So far, Myles has released an EP titled 'You Promised Me A Lifetime', which features six tracks, including his hits 'My Home', 'River' and 'Solo'. He released the EP on 29th March 2024, with him saying: "This title represents a profound, yet neutral statement, which gains meaning through the perspective of the person reading it."

Although he's kept rather tight-lipped on a full album, it appears he's more than keen on releasing one, telling Billboard he wants to be an "album artist", with him adding: "There’s only so much you can say in an EP or single."

When Hits Radio questioned Myles on a full album, he said: "I don't know if it's agreed or not, but I mean... If I say it's agreed on radio, then technically that means that it's agreed, right?", with host Angellica Bell gushing: "And they say if you put things out there, it happens - let's manifest this!"

The singer then confirmed he has songs ready to feature on an album - a lot, in fact - with him starting to 'cut some' now.
