Since Olivia Rodrigo wrapped her epic 'Guts' world tour in 2025, which included several dates in the UK, the singer's fans have been desperately awaiting her third album.

The 'drivers license' singer rose to fame after the release of her Grammy award-winning debut album 'Sour', featuring hits such as 'good 4 u' and 'traitor'. She then released her second album 'Guts', back in September 2023 - followed by her 'Guts' world tour'.

Now, after Olivia was spotted sporting a top with the number three at her last tour date, and shared a photo of herself back in the studio, fans have been speculating that her third hit album might not be that far off. Here's what we know...

How was it announced?

Although Olivia's not officially announced the new album, she has revealed she's working on it. In an Insta post entitled 'november🌈🌈🌈🌈 ' in 2025, Liv shared a photo of herself in the recording studio, leading fans to comment: 'OR3 IS CLOSER THAN WE THINK 🔥❤️'.

It comes after she told Elle that she's "working on new music", saying: "Hopefully by the time I put out my next album, it’ll feel more mature and like a different take on things.”

On the last date of her 'Guts' world tour, the singer could be seen wearing a top with the number three on it. She also handed out her rings to some lucky fans while performing at Osheaga Festival in Montreal.

What is the album called?

While many are just calling it 'OR3' at the moment, there have been several names thrown around in the fan circles such as 'Luck' and 'Burn'. These words follow the four letter word naming convention Olivia has used in the past.

The theory for 'Luck' has come about after fans noticed that she's been wearing a lot of polka dot outfits. In Filippino culture polka dots are a symbol of prosperity. Ladybirds are also a symbol of luck and just after her birthday she shared photos of her wearing a polka dot dress, and a close-up of a ladybird, with the caption ending in an ladybird emoji.

When is it out?

Olivia has not yet confirmed when it will be released, but she did tell NYLON in October 2025: “I won't say too much, but I think 2026 is going to be a busy year for me.”

Given Olivia's typical two‑year gap between albums ('Sour' in May 2021 and 'Guts' in September 2023), many fans believe 'OR3' could realistically land in early 2026.

What about her outfits?

Aside from the polka dot outfits we mentioned above, many fans believe she is now shifting away from the purple colour used for 'Sour' and 'Guts' and wearing more red. The singer has Synaesthesia - where words can trigger her to see colours, so perhaps the new album's name is seen red for Liv?

Back in 2022, in a video for Vogue, Olivia opened up about having Synaesthesia telling fans: "I also have minor, baby synaesthesia, so when I listen to songs I'll see colours. Lots of songs on 'Sour' are purple, like 'drivers license' is purple, but 'good 4 u' is a purpley-blue, 'Jealously Jealously' is bright red, 'deja vu' is like orange and pink and light purple."

She continued: "I like having purple as the cohesive colour throughout my whole 'Sour' era."

Eagle-eyed fans have also spotted the use of the colour red on Olivia's website increase as she's moved away from the 'Guts' era.

Are there any collabs?

It's not clear yet if there will be any collabs on her next album, but many fans have been speculating that there might be songs with the likes of Noah Kahan, Chappell Roan or Harry Styles.

What songs are on the tracklist?

The singer has not yet confirmed what songs will be featured on the album, but she did tell Elle in October 2025 that she was enjoying getting stuck in to "new songs and new sounds and new stories".
