Who are Blackpink?

How Blackpink became famous
Blackpink first began to form at a full-time academy in South Korea where they auditioned and trained to become popstars. A number of girls were rumoured to be in the band line-up, but didn't make the final cut when they debuted in 2016.
The new band released their first album 'Square One' that year, with first single 'Whistle' going straight in at Number 1 in Korea.
The band had immediate success and embarked on their first world tour just two years later.

Lisa
Lisa joined RAYE and Doja Cat at the 2025 Oscars ceremony to perform a medley of James Bond songs. She released her debut album 'Lalisa' in 2021 — and her debut solo single of the same name became the most streamed video by a solo artist on YouTube in its first 24 hours!
