Tom Grennan, the singer behind 'Little Bit Of Love', and his anthem 'Lionheart (Fearless)' with Joel Corry, has gone from strength to strength over the last six years, since releasing his debut album 'Lighting Matches' in 2018. The singer now has three albums, and many singles under this belt, including his Top 20 song 'How Does It Feel?', which features on his 'What, Ifs & Maybes' album.

But how much do you know about Tom, who has recently tied the knot with his fiancée Danniella? Despite being an amazing singer, Tom revealed how after reaching a low point during lockdown, he improved his mental and physical health, and completed the London Marathon in April, as well as taking part in Soccer Aid in June 2024. Tom was born on 8th June 1995, making him 29-years-old!

How did he become famous?

Tom was signed after a gig in a Finsbury pub, where a label exec was in the audience. He told Metro.co.uk in 2017: "That’s where my label first saw me play and where I first met the guy who signed me.

"I think they heard that there was this guy going around with his guitar who had an alright voice. They said: 'We’d like to work with you', and I was like, 'Wicked.’ They were really nice." Tom then found fame as a guest singer on Chase & Status’ 2016 track 'All Goes Wrong'.

Is Tom Grennan on tour?

Tom has now finished the biggest tour of his career, he has been doing some summer dates as festivals, and his biggest headline show in Gunnersbury Park, in London. Tom also joined us at Hits Radio Live in both Birmingham on Friday 22nd November 2024, and Manchester on Saturday 23rd November.

On Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd November 2024, Tom performed at Hits Radio Live in both Birmingham and Manchester. He sang some of his biggest hits including 'Little Bit of Love' and new track 'Higher' to big crowds at Birmingham's bp pulse LIVE arena and Manchester's Co-op Live Arena.

Tom Grennan x Gillette

Tom Grennan has re-sung the famous Gillette song, and it's now available to buy! The singer can be heard belting out the song on the TV ads, he also shared some behind the scenes footage of him recording the song. Tom's footballing career

Before making it big in music, Tom trained to be a professional footballer, playing with Luton Town, Northampton Town, Aston Villa and Stevenage, but sadly got dropped. After being given the news, Tom headed to a house party, drowning his sorrows and singing 'Seaside' by The Kooks on karaoke.

Although he didn't remember his performance, his mates did - inviting him to take part in an A-Level project which sparked an interest in music and performance. The rest is history!

In 2021, Tom returned to his footballing roots and took part in Soccer Aid, raising money for charity as part of the World XI team due to his Irish heritage.

Tom also took part in Soccer Aid 2022, when he was awarded Man of The Match.

He then also competed in Soccer Aid 2023, where he also performed during half-time.

It seems Tom can't keep away from Soccer Aid, playing for England once again during the 2024 match on Sunday 9th June, where England won for the first time since 2018!

Did Tom Grennan perform at Glastonbury?

He did! Tom definitely brought the energy to Worthy Farm during his performance at the iconic music festival in June 2023. Tom took to the Other Stage and performed hits including 'Remind Me' and 'How Does It Feel.'

Elton John is a Tom Grennan fan

In a 2017 interview with Metro.co.uk, Tom revealed how global superstar Elton John is a fan. Sir Elton, who famously has an ear for talented young musicians and is also friends with Ed Sheeran, Lewis Capaldi and Sam Fender to name but a few, apparently rang Tom up to congratulate him: "He said he liked my music and that is very humbling and very cool."

He sure was in 2023! Tom and his dad Martin feature on the fifth series of Celebrity Gogglebox, with the pair proving to be popular with viewers.

Tom told us that his dad loved the attention from fans following his TV fame and that he even did interviews with fans on Instagram! Tom said: "And my dad, for people who don't know, he's an Irishman, a very funny one, and he's loving it. He's stepped into this fame, and he loves every second of it. He's on Instagram now, he's doing little interviews on Instagram.

"I've got to read this out actually, because it's the best thing I've seen. This is my dad's Instagram, a message from a lady. 'Hello Martin, I'd just like to make you aware that I'm literally obsessed with you, NOT TOM, but you! You are the fittest man I've seen in the whole wide world, and I'll do anything to have a picture with you! Can I have a poster of you on my bedroom wall? Love and appreciation.'"

Tom Grennan on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway

Tom took to the stage for the End of the Show Show on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway for their first episode of the series on Saturday 25th Feb 2023! Tom appeared throughout the episode, trying to get help as his dressing room was bizarre and called it "virtual insanity" - a nod to Jamiroquai's hit of the same name.

Tom's performance took inspiration from the music video for the 1996 song, impressing viewers of the show with the incredible staging which seemingly saw the floor move and the walls stay put... It has to be seen to be believed!

Christmas song 2022

In November 2022, Tom Grennan announced he had released a cover of a classic Christmas song, Chris Rea's 'Driving Home For Christmas'. His version of the classic song was released as part of Spotify Singles Holiday Collection. On Twitter Tom wrote: 'I’ve recorded a special cover of Driving Home For Christmas by Chris Rae for the #SpotifySingles Holiday Collection 💚' (sic)

Tom Grennan: Music Venue Trust patron

In October 2022, Tom was announced as a Music Venue Trust patron. Speaking about the importance of grassroots venues, Tom said in a now-deleted Instagram post: "Grassroots venues are so important because if we didn’t have them, we wouldn’t have music."

He went on to say: "Music is still alive and this is why venues like this are so important, because if we didn’t have venues I wouldn’t be about, and I know a lot of others wouldn’t be about. There are so many artists, so many genres of music, so many different people that are wanting or needing to be found.

"You don’t need to be glued to your phone to try and find the next big thing because, trust me, the next big things are in venues like this. So, get off your phone, go out and watch and listen to live music, and enjoy it."

What happened to Tom Grennan in New York?

In April 2022, Tom was attacked in New York while on his North America tour. The singer's management released a statement saying he was in 'good spirits'.

Despite the attack, Tom continued his tour and updated his fans with a video and several photos. In the video, Tom said he was: "All good, the support I've been seeing is unbelievable and overwhelming," adding that it was a case of "Wrong place, wrong time."

What was Tom Grennan's virtual gig?

Tom Grennan announced he would be performing an exclusive virtual gig for fans, from London in October 2020. The event saw the singer perform to fans around the world from the O2 Academy Brixton, which he had previously sold out.

The gig wasn't just a live stream of his show, it used the MelodyVR app. This enabled the audience to be transported onto the state-of-the-art stage at the popular venue. They had the chance to experience the performance, and had the ability to choose multiple camera angles, to make the show their own.

Before the gig, Tom said: "Nothing can replace the thrill of live music, especially in a venue as iconic as O2 Academy Brixton. I have loved playing there in the past and I can’t wait to get on the stage again with MelodyVR and bring you a taste of the new album. I am putting together something really special for everyone at home who I’ve missed so much."

Like many other artists, Tom, who was originally set to perform a UK a tour in May 2020, but had to postpone it due to Coronavirus.

What did Tom Grennan do during the Coronavirus lockdown?

Like other singers including Coldplay's Chris Martin and John Legend, Tom Grennan took to social media to keep fans' spirits up during the Coronavirus Pandemic.

After asking his fans if they'd like to hear a cover of a song by Paulo Nutini, or Lauv, Tom shared a video of himself singing, Paulo's 'Last Request' saying, 'You voted for Paolo Nutini so LAST REQUEST is up first! Shall we do this again tomorrow?'

Tom also encouraged his fans to help however they could during the Coronavirus outbreak, with the singer sharing a photo of himself delivering supplies from a local food bank in Bedford where he lives, saying: 'Using my one bit of exercise of the day to deliver essentials to Bedford food bank Green heart Be safe, keep supporting your communities, big love x'.

In October 2023, Tom revealed that he reached a low point during lockdown, both mentally and physically. He told his fans that he decided to get fit and set some goals, he has since completed a triathlon, and is the best he has been mentally and physically.

Has Tom Grennan won a BRIT Award?

Tom hasn't won a BRIT Award, but he has been nominated for three! In 2022 Tom's song 'Little Bit of Love' was nominated for Song Of The Year, but lost out to Adele's 'Easy On Me'. He was also up for Best Rock/Alternative Act, but Sam Fender picked up the gong.

In 2023 it was announced that Tom had one BRIT nomination for Best Alternative/Rock Act alongside Arctic Monkeys, Nova Twins and Wet Leg, but they all lost out to The 1975.

'Not Over Yet' with KSI

Tom released 'Not Over Yet', a collab with KSI, in August 2022, with Tom taking to his social channels and writing: 'Pre order our new song “Not Over Yet” Now. Link in bio'. The track went Platinum in the UK in June 2024.

'What, Ifs and Maybes' was released on 16th June 2023 and was announced by Tom in an energetic Instagram video, where he also revealed details of his UK tour.

'Something in the Water' was Tom Grennan's debut single released in 2016, it was also the name of his debut EP released in the same year.

In 2017, Tom Grennan released 'Found What I've Been Looking For'. Although the song didn't enter the Top 40 in the UK it's very has been very popular on YouTube, with it receiving 14 million views to date.

2018: 'Something Better'

'Something Better' was featured on Tom's second album 'Evering Road'. In a statement released at the time he said: "When I wrote 'Something Better', it was a song about me smiling on the outside but dealing with a whirlwind of dark thoughts and distractions on the inside."
He went on to say: "Since Covid-19 and lockdown, the tables have turned! I'm smiling on the inside, and I'm constantly distracted with thoughts of the exciting, crazy and better future that is coming, and it's just around the corner!"

2021: 'Don't Break The Heart'

Tom Grennan released 'Don't Break The Heart' on 3rd September 2021. The song was about the loss of this friend's mum and in an interview with Essentially Pop he explained: "Recently I received the tragic news of a friend's mum's passing. It hit me hard watching him comprehend what had happened, trying to compute the madness and sadness of his new world now that his mum whom he loved so dearly had passed.
"It triggered memories for me of the loss of my cousin and best friend Alan when I was just a teenager, it broke so many of us. The song unravelled from me quite quickly. It was cathartic on many levels, thoughts of loss and heartbreak, dealing with the grief of death, or the breakdown of a relationship or friendship.
"These are all things that seem to have dominated my life in recent years, but sadly never get any easier to navigate. I'm grateful that the passing of time allows us to look back and remember the good times."

2021: 'Little Bit of Love'

In 2021, Tom Grennan released his first Top 10 UK hit, 'Little Bit of Love'. The song was a hit in a number of countries reaching Number 7 in the UK. The song was written by Tom and featured on his second album 'Evering Road'.
Speaking about his song to NME, he explained that it was about: "the mental struggle of moving on, or going back to a relationship".

2021: 'Let's Go Home Together' with Ella Henderson

'Let's Go Home Together' was a Top 10 hit in 2021 for Ella Henderson and Tom — and has since been certified 2x Platinum. Ella co-wrote the song with James Arthur and a songwriting team.
The music video shows Ella and Tom sitting separately with their own friends in a pub, before coming together after a few drinks.

'Remind Me' was released in May 2022 by Tom Grennan, along with the music video and lyric video.

2022: Tom Grennan and KSI ' Not Over Yet'

Tom Grennan and KSI teamed up for the first time on their collab 'Not Over Yet' released on 5th August 2022, which went Platinum in the UK in June 2024.

Tom Grennan's albums

His debut album 'Lighting Matches' was released in 2018 and reached Number 5 in the UK. Speaking about his debut album, Tom, who is an ambassador for the Homeless World Cup Foundation, told them: "You only live life once, so you got to make every bit of it count. I want to put a stamp on my life, and I want to put a stamp on the world.

"I don’t want to be here to be forgotten. (My music is) fiery, it’s real life and it’s passionate. 'Lighting Matches' is just igniting the flame and igniting the dream."

'Lighting Matches' became a BRIT certified Silver selling album in 2019.

Tom released his second album 'Evering Road' in March 2021, which went straight to Number 1 in the UK and features hit singles 'Little Bit Of Love', 'This Is The Place' and 'Let's Go Home Together' alongside Ella Henderson.

Who has Tom Grennan collaborated with?

Tom has collaborated with Ella Henderson on 'Let's Go Home Together' and DJ Calvin Harris on his release, 'By Your Side'. Tom has also teamed up with rapper KSI for the first time, the pair released their track 'Not Over Yet' on 5th August 2022.

In October 2022, Joel Corry sparked speculation that he and Tom were about to record a collab. Joel posted a photo of the pair saying: 'LINK UP @Tom.Grennan 🦁❤️'.

Not only that, but Tom has also featured on a number of songs! Before becoming a solo artist he worked with Chase & Status providing vocals for their song 'All Goes Wrong' and featured on Bugzy Malone's 'Memory Lane' in 2017.

In 2017, Tom appeared in Charli XCX's music video for 'Boys'. The music video also featured a number of famous 'boys'.

Do Tom Grennan and Ed Sheeran know each other?

Yes, Tom and Ed met up backstage at Hits Live Liverpool and went on a night out: "I met Ed backstage and we'd been emailing before Liverpool," he explained. "We were hanging out backstage and then he was like, 'Should we go out?' And we did.

"Everybody came as well, like Mimi Webb came, Danny from The Script came. It was a good group of people in there and it was tame, man. But it was good to just - I don't know, pick the brains of Ed Sheeran."

Tom went on to reveal: "It is life. It’s crazy. I was asking him all questions about like Eminem and 50 Cent. Honestly, he's the nicest guy and that's why he's the biggest artist in the world."

Despite their amazing collab 'Let's Go Home Together', Tom and Ella are just really good friends! Whilst Tom has a fiancée, Ella Henderson is engaged to Team GB swimmer Jack Burnell, who she met at the start of 2020.

Not anymore as he's married! Whilst on tour in Australia in May 2022, Tom opened up about his girlfriend Danniella being the inspiration behind his song 'Remind Me' and revealed that the pair were engaged.

Then, in May 2024, the singer shared a beautiful photo of himself with Danniella on their wedding day. Tom captioned the photo: 'Life starts now ♥️'.
