A feature-length film immortalising Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne’s Back to the Beginning concert will hit cinemas worldwide in 2026.

Production company Mercury Studios, who livestreamed the sold-out Villa Park concert on Saturday 5th July, are creating the film entitled Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow.

The 100-minute film will ‘aim to capture the raw power and emotional weight of Ozzy’s final bow in his hometown of Birmingham’, and it will focus on Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s music.

‘Presented as a love letter to Ozzy and the pioneering sound of Black Sabbath, the theatrical release will be a distilled version of the epic all-day event held at Villa Park,’ a synopsis reads.

‘Featuring thunderous performances of War Pigs, Iron Man, Children of the Grave, and a show-stopping Paranoid, the film promises a deeply personal and electrifying farewell from the godfather of heavy metal with exclusive behind-the-scenes access and interviews from this iconic live performance.

‘Hosted by Jason Momoa and packed with surprise appearances, the original live event was widely praised as “the most iconic night in metal history.”

‘Performances from Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Ronnie Wood, Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), Slayer, Pantera, Tool, Yungblud, Papa V/Ghost and a star-studded drum-off between Tool drummer Danney Carey, Blink-182’s Travis Barker and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, made for an unforgettable send-off.’

Following the cinema screenings, Back to the Beginning: Ozzy’s Final Bow will get a physical product release later in 2026.

More details on the theatrical rollout will be announced in the coming months.

The news comes on the same day Yungblud has released his cover of Black Sabbath’s ‘Changes’ at Back to the Beginning as a single.

Just like the Back to the Beginning concert, proceeds from the single will go to the charities Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn’s Children’s Hospice.

Last week, Back to the Beginning musical director Tom Morello claimed that $190 million (£140 million) had been raised for charity from the event.

Sources have told Planet Rock that the tally is inaccurate, and the correct figure will be revealed by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne in due course.
